CONTACT/TEAM PREFERENCES

A comment separate from your app with your name, email, and team preferences. Making it a separate comment lets us keep it screened, thus keeping your team preferences private.

For the time zone field, feel free to make a note if working bizarre hours makes you effectively on a different time zone than stated.

"Team preferences" is a catch-all field for any thoughts you might have regarding your character's placement. For example, you might want a team that will put up with your character's sociopathy, or has a certain "feel" to it, or is friendly to your time zone, or maybe you don't think your character looks good in orange, and so on! This is also the spot to let us know if there are teams you DON'T want to be on. While you're not required to put anything here, don't say you have no preference unless you really, honestly have NOTHING to say on the subject! If you've already apped and realized you'd forgotten something? Make another comment!

Character Name: Dr. Bruce Banner
Canon: The Incredible Hulk/The Avengers (movieverse)
Reference Link: wiki

Character History: Bruce Banner is an excellent example of how experiments can go very, very wrong. Unbeknownst to Bruce, the military project that he thought he was working on, to make humans immune to gamma radiation, is actually about restarting the failed super soldier program that created Captain America. Bruce ends up being exposed to too much gamma radiation and ends up transforming into the big, green rage monster known as the Hulk whenever he becomes angry (or afraid or very excited...). Running away from the military seems like an excellent plan at this stage, but General Ross won't give up on looking for him. To make a long story short, Bruce ends up hiding out for a few years and trying to find a cure for his condition.

After his last escape from General Ross and failed suicide attempt, Bruce spent much of his time moving from looking for a way out to learning how to control his transformation. The Bruce that we meet in The Avengers has become very skilled at managing his anger. Because he's the foremost expert on gamma radiation (and they have a gamma radiation problem on their hands), Bruce ends up being recruited by SHIELD. Bruce is a somewhat reluctant member of the Avengers at first, but he does manage to show up exactly when you need him to help save the world from an alien invasion.

Since becoming the Hulk is a little beyond what the powercap would allow, Bruce isn't going to be able to transform in his clone body. His blood is likely still very weird, but he's stuck in the body of baseline Bruce Banner, no matter how angry he gets.

Personality: Bruce is a brilliant scientist and one of the smartest people around. He's a guy who has issues, but still does his best to help other people despite that. He's something of a loner, a quiet man with a strong sarcastic streak and a self deprecating sense of humor. Of course, the primary reason he's on the run and keeps so much to himself is because of the other guy. This duality is the center of Bruce's identity; he's Dr. Bruce Banner, scientist and all around good guy, but he's also the Hulk as well, the big green rage monster. Bruce's journey is about coming to accept the monster inside and learning how to control it.

When you get down to it, Bruce's life really is all about control. Emotions like anger, fear, and excitement can trigger his transformation into the Hulk. However, at this stage Bruce's ability to restrain himself is pretty damn epic. He is, as he tells Captain America, angry all the time, but he's in control of that anger. It no longer controls him. Even without the ability to "hulk out", Bruce will keep up his control of his emotions.

Bruce himself is clearly tired, bitter, and finds it pretty difficult to trust anyone when he first joins up with the Avengers. He...almost expects to be put in a cage and kept there, and seems almost resigned to this fate. All he wants to do is finish his job and leave, but it's pretty clear that he doesn't think that's happening. However, when someone trusts in him, Bruce does reciprocate and becomes someone that the team can really rely on.

Writing Sample:
01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Bruce is fine. Dr. Banner, if you want to be formal about it.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Uniforms aren't really my thing. They tend to tear too easily, you see. Socks are nice, though. Keep your feet warm, and they help absorb sweat.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Mandatory periods of silence doesn't sound ominous at all...

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
Suspicion isn't really the right word. Maybe you should ask Director Fury about who he was saving that cage for.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Okay, I'm going to pass on this one.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
No, I've become very good at working around misery. It's almost an occupational hazard..

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Eating utensil or dish? It might just be me, but I usually use both.

08. Do you trust yourself?
It's complicated.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
Look, if I listed something, then I wouldn't be the only one who knows any more.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
No, not for long.

Re: Agrias Oaks | Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions

[personal profile] likebigboats 2012-05-22 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Character Name: Agrias Oaks
Canon: Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Reference Link: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Agrias_Oaks

Character History: Agrias appears to have grown up in a low-ranking noble family of Ivalice, a Final Fantasy country with Shakespearean setting flavors. Setting aside "womanly pursuits," Agrias was brought up to be a Holy Knight, meant to serve her country and the Church of Glabados. She was educated by the Church, trained in a military academy and climbed the military ranks to become a member of the Lionsguard, the sword and shield of the royal family -- ultimately named captain of Princess Ovelia's entourage at Orbonne Monastery.

Ivalice is in the throes of a war of succession, so when an attack on the monastery results in the kidnapping of Ovelia, Agrias pursues the kidnappers relentlessly, finding herself and protagonist Ramza Beolve walking into a conspiracy of epic proportions including familial backstabbing and demonic possession. Discovering both the nobility and the Church are rotten to the core, when Agrias finally sees her charge to a relatively safe place, she finds herself compelled to leave her there, traveling with Ramza and becoming a heretic by association out of the desire to cut the corruption out of the country and prepare the way for her princess' rule.

The party prevents the return of a terrible demon that the Church has been portraying as a Jesus figure, but as heretics our heroes are unable to return to the country, which is still primarily controlled by the Church, such that the records of their deeds are covered up and anyone who tries to expose the truth is executed.

Personality: Agrias is a (female) model of knightly idealism. Though signs of her low-ranking upbringing bleed through in some uncouth displays of temper -- banging her fist on things and swearing loudly when something goes horribly wrong and social faux pas such as calling some of the less believable Church teachings "faery tales" right to a Cardinal's face -- she generally appears to have built her entire identity around chivalry.

The woman is primarily concerned with fulfilling her duty, first doing whatever she can for those she owes loyalty to, and second to protecting people in need. As a result she generally presents herself as stiffly formal, all business and ready to threaten those who would commit an injustice. With a steely personality, Agrias isn't afraid to speak her mind or scold someone for an impropriety. Beneath that brusque exterior, however, is a quiet and intelligent woman who likes to chill with a drink in a pub and people-watch; someone quick to defer to directions from companions she can trust, because she would rather work with comrades and have their endeavors succeed than feed her own ego. She professes that she left feminine pursuits behind, but is depicted as softening up in a private moment of peace to enjoy the beauty of nature, or appreciating and trying on a friend's gift of makeup. She doesn't regret denying herself a more ladylike life, but she can enjoy scraps of it when the opportunity arises.

It's not just her duty to protect the gentle and weak -- she genuinely likes them and wants to shelter them, to be able to watch them continue being moe. This is evidenced in her sympathy for the stress politics puts on her princess, watching over her ward as the princess plays a grass flute, or even expressing her genuine fondness for the party's derpy engineer whom she rescues. And overall, as long as she doesn't fail those she would protect, she's content with her life as a knight, even if that means risking her honorable reputation being labelled a heretic.

Writing Sample:
01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

Merely that which is my proper title, my lady. You may know me as Lady Agrias Oaks, knight of the Lionsguard.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

I should hope so. To serve without would be an inconvenience, for though socks seem the least of garments, one's feet may bleed for lack of them.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

The time was not marked, lady, else be assured I would answer in full honesty. I am most inclined to remember the whole of such experiences when propriety calls for it, rather than when my tongue is held merely out of habit.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

If my countenance appears suspicious of certain figures, it is merely a wariness born from experience of evil men's machinations. I have the utmost confidence in the honor of my entourage and family, though I can say without a doubt that it is common for those outside that circle to act out of more base self-interest.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

How, my lady, a wild animal? A Chocobo would make a dear companion and a fine mount, but attend me now. I am a knight, and though I have a fondness for the splendors with which God has graced our world, I've no time to rear an animal of my own.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

My memory is steeped with the injustices knaves have visited upon those who could not defend themselves. It does not serve to deter me -- quite the opposite, even. A knight must steel himself, so that he may introduce those same knaves to the steel of justice's blade.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

A plate and fork, as etiquette demands.

08. Do you trust yourself?

As with any, I have my shame and failures. We are imperfect beings, struggling to survive in an imperfect world. Yet for all that we lack, we cannot let ourselves be overwhelmed by it, for to falter in this respect is to allow doubt to bind us more thoroughly than our harshest enemies.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

I do not commit crimes, and I should thank my lady not to speak such insulting assumptions again! Once have I been charged with wrongdoing, and even that was a false charge; should any persist in attempting to tear apart my honor, they will find an argument in my blade.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

I can think of a small few, but these people know my loyalty shall guide me back to their sides once again when my toils are complete. It shall be as though I had never left. Such was my vow to those esteemed persons.

Icicle Jr. | Young Justice

[personal profile] icicleiciclebaby 2012-05-22 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Name: Cameron Mahkent / Icicle Jr.
Canon: Young Justice
Reference Link: http://youngjustice.wikia.com/wiki/Icicle_Jr.

Character History:
(brief note: since not all of Icicle Jr.'s backstory is given in series, I am going to assume that it is relatively the same as in main DC canon)

Due to Joar Mahkent's use of a weapon known as the "cold ray gun", his genetics was altered which allowed him to biologically pass down the traits for cryokinesis to his son Cameron. Insert 17 years of time in which Cameron learned how to use his powers and make a name of himself as a villain. On Independence Day, Cameron, also known as Icicle Jr., attacked a suspension bridge in Star City, only to be defeated quickly by Green Arrow and Speedy. He was sent to his usual juvenile detention facility only to sue so he could be tried as an adult, which allowed him to be sent to Belle Reve Penitentiary so he could meet up with several other ice based villains (Mister Freeze, Captain Cold, Killer Frost and his father, Icicle Sr.)

At Belle Reve, he was roomed with "Tommy Terror" (who was really Superboy) and became friendly with him, bonding over their daddy issues. With all the ice villains in Belle Reve, they got to work on enacting what would have possibly been the greatest prison escape in history. However, because of their positive relationship, Superboy was able to manipulate Cameron easily, which allowed him to halt the break out and rush to Miss Martian's aid. After watching a kiss between the "Terror Twins", Cameron realized that both Miss Martian and Superboy were enemies of his father and that he had messed up big time. In his words "Oh man, dad's gonna kill me."

Personality:
Cameron did not become a villain just because he wants to fill in his father's shoes. He became one because he is not a nice person. Psychotic, Cameron does not care at all if his actions put other people into danger. He does what he wants, when he wants and does not care for the consequences. He also has some issues in regard to his father, considering that his father does not think well of him all that much. Cameron says he won't put himself into danger because of him, but he does respect him. Also a bit dumb, it's easy to mislead him. But for the most part, Cameron is still largely a 17 year old boy. He's into girls, hanging out with friends, and doing stupid stuff... even if that stupid stuff, for the most part, is illegal and will likely endanger or kill people along the way.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Icicle, but Dad likes to be called that too, so I guess Icicle Jr. works.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Not really, I don't get cold at all hah. I can handle it.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Dude, why are you asking this? I don't think I can go a minute without saying something.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
That's pretty normal, so it's strange if I don't think that.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
A penguin. ...What? They're fucking awesome.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Hell no, I live off it.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
A fork? I don't know what else you'll eat cake with.

08. Do you trust yourself?
Who else can I trust?

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
I have a list of crimes I've committed, I doubt that there's someone out there who doesn't know something I've committed.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
They're likely to just wonder where I've gone and why the hell I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

So no.

Character Name: Melody Pond AKA River Song
Canon: Doctor Who
Reference Link: Doctor Who and River Song specifically (bottom left picture is her first body, bottom right is her first regeneration, top is her second and last regeneration)

Character History:
Melody Pond was taken from her mother, Amy, shortly after birth and turned into a weapon to assassinate the most dangerous man in the universe: the Doctor. She was raised on Earth, first living in an orphanage run by aliens. She was shot, but as she died she regenerated into a new body (she could do this thanks to being conceived on a time machine). She then grew up alongside Amy and Rory, her future parents (time travel makes everything complicated). When Amy grew up, she adventured with the Doctor and Melody heard about it. Eventually she decided it was time, and called the Doctor by making crop circle messages. Then she held him at gunpoint and forced him to take her to Nazi Germany to kill Hitler.

Hitler shot her and she was forced to regenerate into a new form, one that was very familiar to the Doctor, Amy and Rory. They'd met her before as an archeologist called River Song, who'd saved their lives before. Melody had never heard that name, and true to her training one of her first actions upon regeneration was poisoning the Doctor. But eventually she heard enough about what she would become in the future to decide to save his life, giving up all her future regenerations in the process. Her obsession with the Doctor now turned in a more romantic direction, she became an archeologist to try track him down. Eventually she was forced to kill him, but instead helped him fake his death (and married him in the process). She was imprisoned for murder, but escaped frequently for adventures (best described by this chart). Thanks to timeline weirdness, as River got to know the Doctor more, he started to know her less, until one day he met her for the first time. On that day she sacrificed herself to save the Doctor's life, and the Doctor managed to upload her consciousness to a computer to live forever.

Personality:
For someone who spent her childhood being brainwashed into a weapon and who at one point declares herself a psychopath, by the end of her life River is a remarkably stable person. She comes across as mature, compassionate and mostly calm in the face of danger. That said, she still retains a tendency to ignore the rules when it suits her, for example breaking out of jail on a regular basis to see the Doctor (but it's okay, she always broke back in again). While she can be serious when the situation calls for it, for the most part she indulges an extreme flair for the dramatic. And when you and your lover can appear at any point in time or space you can get away with a lot. Her favoured way of getting his attention is creating or defacing ancient artifacts and she's been known to let herself be flung into space, secure in the knowledge that he would appear to catch her.

Her complete love of and trust in the Doctor is one of her most defining features. She was raised since birth to obsess over him and that feeling doesn't diminish for all that she turns it to a more benevolent purpose. She believes in his goodness probably more than anyone, and is always completely confident that he'll manage to save the day (with her help, of course). The fact that they're meeting in the wrong order and that almost every time they meet he knows less and less about her weighs on her heavily. However, she's by no means passive or dependent on him. She's his match intellectually and more than his match physically. She's happy to call him out for bad behaviour and show him up when it comes to technical prowess (they're both careful not to spoil each other about each others' lives (in fact responding to things by simply saying "spoilers" is something of a catchphrase for her), but apparently showing off the best way to fly the TARDIS doesn't count). She's also quite happy to go about her business and have her own adventures and only see him every now and then, as long as he does come when called.

And she does have adventures of her own. As an archeologist she's something of an Indiana Jones-like figure, swashbuckling her way through life with a blaster and a ton of attitude. Her training has left her with excellent combat skills and even though she doesn't take quite the same sadistic pleasure in it as she did when she was younger and crazier, she still does love a good shootout.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Professor River Song will do nicely.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Of course. My boots would get awfully uncomfortable without them.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Whiling away the hours in prison, I suspect. One can only amuse herself with the guards for so long before they're ordered to stop responding, after all. And talking to myself would just be... well, sad.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
It's not paranoia when half of the universe really is out to get you. But my family, I trust more than anything.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
A lion, I think. There's just something about taming a creature that's used to being the most impressive thing in the room.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
No, and I've witnessed it all too often.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
I do hate to be boring, but plates were invented for a reason.

08. Do you trust yourself?
Completely.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
Spoilers!

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
I have disappeared, but they won't miss me for a long time. After all, some of those closest to me haven't met me yet. They've still got years left before they have to miss me at all.

Character Name: Li Kouyuu
Canon: Saiunkoku Monogatari (anime)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Story_of_Saiunkoku_episodes for anime specific plot details!
http://saiunkokumonogatari.wikia.com/wiki/Li_Kouyuu for some more character details.

Character History:
The boy that would be known as Li Kouyuu was orphaned at a young age, but he was resourceful enough to make his own way, selling lots on a lottery to make money to survive. It was only when Hong Reishin stopped by on his way through town that his luck changed somewhat. Impressed by Kouyuu's scheme and ideas, and once learning he had no parents, Reishin declared him sufficient, and picked him up and took him home to be part of his family. Because of this, Kouyuu feels very indebted to his new father, and has done everything in his power to try to support him and impress him, to varying degrees of successfulness. He developed into a bright young man with quite a work ethic.

As a result, in order to follow his foster father's footsteps as part of the Civil Service, Kouyuu took the governmental exams. He actually came first and at the time was the youngest ever to place first, at the age of 16. He, along with the second place finisher, Ran Shuuei (his self proclaimed BFF) worked their way up and they were both assigned to work directly for the Emperor Ryuuki himself. This is about when Hong Shuurei is taken in to become a consort for the Emperor - and at that point, Kouyuu has still yet to actually meet the Emperor - as Kouyuu's charge has been avoiding him utterly, which doesn't make him happy. However, it's with Shuurei and Shuuei's help that they all manage to get to meet Ryuuki and begin him on the path to change - into a man who is capable of leading a country.

It's during all this and their experiences together that Ryuuki gives both Kouyuu and Shuuei a flower to symbolize his trust in them - and their acceptance symbolizes their absolute loyalty to him.

Personality:

Kouyuu is a genius and everyone knows it. Hard working and dependable, he's someone that has worked his way up to an important position in Saiunkoku's government. However, despite his mind and manners, he's still a man who suffers very much from other personality flaws. First, of course, is his temper. Kouyuu is someone who will fly off the handle with very little provocation. He has particular people who set him off the worst - his best friend, Ran Shuuei, being one of them. He's very rigid - as a result of the work ethic that's gotten him so far, he expects that when he is assigned a job, he'll be able to do it, and has little patience for having obstacles in his path. Whether it's the Emperor refusing to see him even after Kouyuu has been assigned to him, or Shuuei's brother disturbing him and keeping him up all night doing ridiculous things, he doesn't have a lot of patience.

He's also quite insecure at times - he wants to do everything he can in order to be valued by his foster father, Hong Reishin, and this is part of the reason he joined the civil service in the first place. He gets easily shaken when people try to introduce the idea that maybe his father doesn't care about him, but when those that matter reassure him about the truth of the situation, he takes a lot of stock in it and is able to rebound quite quickly. Even so, he's very slow to voice these problems and generally doesn't want people to trouble themselves over his problems, so he doesn't voice them the better part of the time. All that said, Kouyuu is a man who endures as best he can, even if sometimes he has problems doing so - whether it's suffering the attention of people who enjoy poking fun of him, or enduring a lazy king who he knows can do better, Kouyuu is very concerned with doing the right thing, and will do all he can to protect the people and ideas he cares most about.

The only other important things of note - Kouyuu is so easily lost it's not funny. He tends to blame the places he was trying to get to for moving, because he doesn't want to admit that he is the most directionally challenged ever. He also has very little time for women (Shuurei is the only exception) because he feels they only tend to bring trouble. He is also fairly superstitious!

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Li Kouyuu, of course. The name Reishin-sama gave me - unless you'd prefer "Vice-Secretary of the Department of Civil Administration"!

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
I would prefer it.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
To be frank, I can go quite a long time without speaking, as long as I am given a book or some sort of text to occupy myself with. Unfortunately, it's those who tend to hang about me that make me break my silence.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
I work for the government. I would be a fool to not think that some people have their own goals in mind, even though that disgusts me. But I'm not paranoid about it - I'm more than capable of taking care of myself, thank you.

. . .

So in short, no.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Large egret, small egret - why would I want an egret in the first place?! A pet is one thing, but domesticating something wild is just ridiculous. Can you imagine what it would do to my books?!

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Functionally incapacitated? No. Bothered? Yes.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Favorite flatware. . ? I'm only accustomed to chopsticks. Nevermind that I don't believe I've ever had cake. . .

08. Do you trust yourself?
. . . Is Shuuei writing these questions?! Of course I do. Of course I do!! Why wouldn't I. . !

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
I haven't committed any in the first place!

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
. . . I'd like to think so, but I have no intentions of going into the details with you or anyone else.

Character Name: Artemis Crock
Canon: Young Justice
Reference Link: The YJ Wiki

Character History: A great deal of Artemis' personality takes root in her family issues. Daughter of two supervillains, she was trained for combat from childhood, constantly being tested by her father, something which she alludes to in the amnesia episode as casually as "He probably wants me to kill you." This part of her life was conducted in the absence of her mother and sister. (Her mother was serving time in jail for her crimes, and Jade ran away to escape their father and train under a different master, leaving Artemis the sole member of their family actually trying to keep them a family.) After years of incredibly unhealthy childhood training, her mother returned from jail, and the two of them somehow managing to keep Sportsmaster away, living together in a Gotham apartment. Artemis took up vigilanteism, and eventually was made Green Arrow's protege. Only a day later, she became a part of the Team, and thus a part of the series.
Personality: Because of her upbringing, she's aggressive and caustic, ready and willing to speak her mind and bring it to blows at the slightest provocation. An incredibly physical person, she vents her anger by looking for trouble, seeking out villains to beat up with her fists if at all possible. She's strong, smart, independent and presents herself as a generally capable person.

As is often the case with characters that have such bravado, Artemis is much less together beneath her tough outer shell. She lives with a crippling fear of her teammates discovering to whom she's related, and makes mistakes in her efforts to keep that secret. She lies, lets enemies (her sister) walk free and generally gives off a rather untrustworthy impression at bad times. She has some difficulty fighting the family she so loves, even as broken as they are, to the point of actively being a hindrance in fights against Cheshire or Sportsmaster, from time to time. At the same time, she's desperate for the approval of others, even though she tries to pretend she isn't. Learning that she may have become Green Arrow's protege not through her own prowess but through pity very nearly As tough as she tries to be, she can only take so much pressure, and has broken down on-screen when the entire team depended on her. Character Name: Yukinosuke (but often goes by Yuki)
Canon: Shounen Dolls
Reference Link:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=35419
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm240/Jasdevi/yukiref.jpg On the left! He unfortunately has no full-body shots. Not pictured are the frills of his gloves, the full length of his mullet, his butterfly-print hakama, and his tabi + sandal combo.

Character History:

Etou Choushichirou was a doll maker in ye olde Japan who created two sentient dolls, Leo and Yukinosuke (Yuki). Outwardly, their purpose was to purify the souls of other dolls (for if dolls are neglected/abused, they become corrupted and attack humans), but in reality Choushichirou made them to act as his vessels when he eventually reincarnated, but the latter isn't relevant at the moment.

Ten years prior to the beginning of the series, Yuki was stolen from the Etous and passed around from toy shops to junk shops and so on. Like other dolls', Yuki's soul became corrupted due to the neglect and abuse he received while being passed around. He was taken in by a man who genuinely cared for him, but that ended in tears: when either Leo or Yuki are kissed by one who feels affection toward them, they transform into a human. When this man accidentally kissed Yuki, Yuki transformed into a human -- ultra-feminine appearance and all. The man's girlfriend saw them together and, assuming that he was cheating on her with another woman, ran out into the street where she was hit by a car. The man cursed Yuki and shattered the latter's chest. He later left Yuki somewhere for repairs and never returned.

This event particularly traumatized Yuki, and he became self-sacrificing. When he finally was reunited with Leo and his new master, Ageha, he made a great show of protecting her and being her knight in shining armor, hiding the fact that he was just too scared to honestly yearn for her love. Throughout the series his bond with Ageha is deepened and he's able to become more confident, and eventually he learns how to protect Ageha for the sake of protecting her, not to protect her just because he wants to sacrifice himself.

Personality:

Outwardly, Yuki is confident, humble, and polite. He fulfills the role of the archetypal knight: gallant, courageous, and selfless; yet humble and never asking for recompense. This is not entirely wrong; Yuki finds great value in fulfilling one's duty, especially if it is for the benefit of others. He's quick to put himself second to a worthy cause and does not hesitate to act in a way he believes to be right or proper. His politesse is reserved for those he respects, and though he acts still kindly toward those who are uncouth of undeserved of his manners (or so he believes), his words may hold something of a bite toward them.

Yuki's unadulterated devotion to his duty allows him to act without hesitating, but it also allows him to be merciless when need be. Yuki is quick to forgive those he likes but will forever remember the face of an enemy, though his treatment of them may not necessarily be hostile. Yuki can very easily convince himself that something is necessary or a threat; and he can just as easily strike that hindrance down.

Yet, Yuki himself is somewhat fragile. His actions are often bold and ostentatious to hide the fact that he heavily guards his true heart deep down for fear of being hurt. Ageha's persistence has thawed his heart, but that was for her affection alone; Yuki is more receptive toward others, now, but he is still careful about who he lets in, for fear of being hurt. Nonetheless, Yuki will be cordial, civil, and even sweet to others, even if he has put a mental barrier between him and others. It's not impossible to grow close to him: with perseverance can someone endear himself to him, but Yuki exercises caution as a reflex to keep himself from being hurt again.

... That said! Yuki is still a doll. Dolls desire to be loved more than anything else, and can become very greedy for affection; the reason why many go berserk is because they feel slighted by humans. Partly by nature and partly because he starves himself from love, he is very easily jealous and can very quickly become resentful, especially when neglected. If he feels that he is being loved less than the others around him, his mood tends to go sour, though he may not show it.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

My proper name is Yukinosuke, but just Yuki is fine.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

Of course. Socks are are a practical asset and a necessity for nearly all uniforms. I've grown so used to wearing tabi over the years, so my answer may be somewhat biased. Even so, my answer remains the same.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

Ten years.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

Not at all. Not only would it be ridiculous to doubt the two closest to me, but Ageha-dono is simply not the kind to do such things. Leo may be somewhat mischievous, perhaps, but he wouldn't do anything if he knew what's good for him.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

I'm afraid all animals are our of the question. Animals require attention and affection, and I simply haven't any to spare at the moment, nor does Ageha-dono.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

Not at all. Unfortunately, my duty requires me to witness the misery of others quite frequently. I wouldn't be efficient if such a sight were to incapacitate me, would I?

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

I use the utensils best suited to the kind of cake, of course.

08. Do you trust yourself?

Even if I did not, do you think I would admit such a thing?

But, it's only natural that I do.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

It is not the duty of dolls to have their own secrets, but to bear his master's secrets. So, I have absolutely none ♥

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

. . . Ah. Well, it's likely, yes. After all, Leo can't help but be far weaker when I'm not with him, and Ageha-dono is awfully kind. If I were to disappear I would hope I cause her no grief, but, admittedly, it does make me happy to think she would miss me if I were gone.

Of course, that certainly isn't happening any time soon, so we're speaking entirely in hypotheticals.

Character Name: Phil Coulson
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe (Appearance in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Avengers)
Reference Link: Link

Character History: (As a minor character, there's not a lot of backstory available for Phil Coulson. Some of these are assumptions derived from his character and behavior in the movies)

SHIELD is a counter terrorism and covert agency run by a man named Nick Fury and Phil Coulson serves as his right hand man. It is assumed that he has been with the agency for many years. He appears to be a simple man and his life is primarily dedicated to his work, though he has managed to find some time to date. He has helped ensure the safety of the world numerous times and is often tasked with liaison jobs, otherwise also known as, cat herding. He has to make sure people are doing what needed to be done; it doesn't matter if they're superheroes or regular people. If something needed to be kept secret, he will make sure it is kept secret. If someone needed to be tasered to stay motivated, he'll do that too. The fate of the world is at stake, after all.

Personality: Coulson is a responsible and resourceful man. He excels at his job and is capable of remaining calm in all types of situations. He listens to orders and will do whatever it takes to get a job done. He takes things in stride and has an excellent poker face, too, managing to keep a straight face and demeanor no matter the situation. He's good at reading people and adapting to a situation quickly and efficiently. It is what makes him a good leader and subordinate. While he may seem stiff and serious, Coulson has an unexpected lighter side to him, often acting as a straight man and unintentionally delivering punch lines with his dry wit.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Phil. I've gone by Agent Coulson for so long, I believe there are people who think my first name is Agent. Not that I mind the formality.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Yes, please. Leather shoes tend to chafe.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
I believe it was almost a full day. I was having a stare down during an interrogation. He was a tough nut to crack. But I got him to open up once I got around to arranging thumbtacks on the table.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
Unfortunately, it comes with the job. Anyone could be a terrorist or a villain seeking to dominate the world. I just have to know when to put the suspicions aside. In this line of work, you won't last long if you can't trust your own team.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
An eagle. The bald eagle, specifically. Because it is a symbol of America.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
No. I can't afford to be.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
A paper plate. I don't have to wash up afterwards.

08. Do you trust yourself?
Yes. I'm aware of my limitations and my capabilities.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
When I was young, I stole my cousin's medicine and flushed a month's worth of it down the toilet. I thought they were drugs. I got into a lot of trouble for it.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Yes. I play a vital role assisting Director Fury in SHIELD. Though I can and will eventually be replaced.

Character Name: Toji Suzuhara
Canon: Neon Genesis Evangelion (manga)
Reference Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_genesis_evangelion, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion_%28manga%29

Character History:

Toji is, is many ways, just an ordinary teenager in a postacopalyptic world in a not quite postapocalyptic city Tokyo-3 (It is supposed to be the safest place, afterall). He's an orphan, but having a grandfather and a younger sister, he's not lacking for a family. Though he'd probably gladly hook up with some pretty and kind girl someday, but that's for the future. Even though he's often immature in school and other places, at home he's in many ways the head of the family, or at least certainly a bit parental to his younger sister.

One day, a monster called Angel attacked Tokyo-3. Fortunately, the organisation called Nerve already knew a lot about those Angels and had giant biorobots called Evangelions made specifically for the purpose of combating them. The pilot of Evangelion 01 somehow managed to defeat the Angel.

However, there was a lot of coratellal damage done in that battle. Many people were hurt - including Toji's sister. So when the inexperienced pilot, Shinji Ikari, showed up in their school, Toji was extremely pissed off. So pissed off that he makes it very clear with his fist.

Still, he felt a bit bad about it later, even if he tried not to show it. So when another Angel appeared, Kensuke easily guilted his buddy into leaving the shelter with him to go see the giant robot battle. And... well, Shinji wasn't really much better at fighting than before. When Shinji took them to his cockpit to save them from being squashed, Toji could observe firsthand how difficult job it is.

Afterwards, they became friends. Later on, Toji was offered a position of Eva pilot - and he told Shinji just how scared it really made him, even if he tried to put a brave face on.

Personality:

Toji is a very straithforward person and the only thing about him that can at times be fake is his bravado. He's no good at faking indifference even if he tries. He can be quite rude and brash. If you're looking for somebody who can make a lot of bad decisions in a heat of the moment (or sometimes good decisions, too, depending. Or maybe accidently) Toji is certainly a good candidate. He can be a bit of a pervert and he's also generally clueless if the situation he's in is complicated. Not that he's going to spend much (or any) time asking existential questions, that would be a waste of time. He puts more stock in actions than in words. So when he cares about somebody, there will be no profound declarations, but he'll kick anybody who's a jerk to them in the ass and try to protect his friends with all his strength. In other words, any violence from his direction would be a case of righteous (more or less, in his eyes, if often misguided) anger, never any malicious intent. Yes, he's very protective. And no, he wouldn't break anybody's arms and legs on purpose in reality, no matter what he says.

He likes his normal life, thank you very much, and unlike his best friend Kensuke, he certainly wouldn't want to change it in a ridiculuous way. Like, say, become a pilot of some crazy giant robot and beat some monsters with it. That's just not on. (He'd rather do normal things, like beating people up if they deserve it.)

He's more caring that he lets on, and he would try to help even a stranger if they were truly in a shitty situation (unless they're a jerk about it, maybe). Especially if it's somebody younger than him, because than, his brotherly instints would kick in and he'd be quite gentle towards them. To whoever becomes friends with him, he'll always be loyal, trustworthy and, well, maybe not exactly dependable, but as dependable as a tactless and hotheaded teenager can be. If you're a very good friend, he might even stop fronting and show his own vulnerability if he's in over his head. Still, he'd really have to trust such a person very much, otherwise he'd be ashamed. He likes to be a tough guy.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

Toji Suzuhara. What, you've got something against my name?

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

If you stole my socks, I'll get them back.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

That's stupid, I'm not going to shut up just because somebody tells me too. Besides, I'd get bored to death.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

My family and buddies aren't gonna talk smack about me behind my back. Though class rep and Soryu might be, now that I think about it.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

What the hell is an egret and why would I want it? And dunno, maybe I would take a dog. I hear they can guard people and bite jerks.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

I'm not going to mope just cause somebody else's doing it. That wouldn't help nobody. And unless they're just being an idiot, I can ask what's going on. And do something.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

A plate. What else would I eat a cake from?

08. Do you trust yourself?

Tch, of course.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

If you don't know I'm not telling. Don't take me for a complete idiot.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

What?!

...yeah. It's not your business, anyway.

Character Name: Excel
Canon: Excel Saga (manga)
Reference Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excel_Saga

Character History: Excel is a loyal and hard-working member of ACROSS, a world conquest organization consisting of three nubile young women and a bishounen with a pit trap. She is perhaps not the best choice for a covert organization, considering her complete lack of common sense and the extent to which she loves the sound of her own voice, but then that's just how ACROSS rolls. Over the course of her canon, Excel spends several years in the "lower world of the ignorant masses," working hundreds of part time jobs - many of which went up in flames - and executing nearly a million (failed) missions under the completely useless guidance of Lord Il Palazzo, whom she admires, reveres, and worships like a god.

Eventually there's a seriously convoluted plot involving amnesia and bodyswapping and robots and angel souls and dead waifus and crazy schemes to defeat God. It's all very confusing and the only relevant part is that Excel thinks the plot is stupid and beats people up until it goes away. She then evolves into a higher life form, conquers the world, wins Il Palazzo's heart, and flies off into space. (No, really).

Personality: Excel is talkative, energetic, hard-working, deceptively smart, and endlessly loyal. At first glance, she seems like a confident, outgoing, happy-go-lucky sort of person, but the crazy runs deep. Excel is paranoid, cynical, petty, deeply insecure, and often outright mean. Her entire psyche is held together with duct tape and love for Lord Il Palazzo. She's also severely delusional in a lot of ways, and takes her ridiculous double-life as a world conqueror so seriously that she has to get amnesia just to make a friend.

Near the end of canon, however, she does grow in overall competence and has some good character growth. Her character arc basically involves building confidence, being true to herself, learning to deal with other people, and rigorous blows to the heads of all parties involved.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Huh, that's a pretty good question. How about Your Highness? Is that too much? It's not like I'm second-in-charge of the entire world or anything — oh wait, yes it is!

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
You bet your bytes I do! Socks, size six boots, 12-gauge shoulderpads, and a white cape! Chop chop!

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Uhh, are we counting periods while underwater, brain-damaged, or in a coma?

. . . You know what, let's just skip this question.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
What? No! We're tied together by the infinite, unbreakable bonds of loyalty and the beatings that they will receive at the first sign of suspicious behavior!

. . . Wait, what are they doing? Did you see them doing it? You know what, never mind, I'll check on them myself.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
The octopus bigger than Mt. Fuji! It seems like a worthy ally.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Nnnah.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Wire clippers and some C4.

08. Do you trust yourself?
You betcha! And you should too! Just look at this trustworthy face!

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
You think you're pretty clever, huh? Well these lips ain't tellin you nothing! Not even the ones I did by accident! So there!

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
The whole world would mourn! Not to mention my glorious lord! Why don'tcha just put me back where you found me? No questions asked, very few punches thrown!

Character Name: Recca Hanabishi
Canon: Flame of Recca (manga)
Reference Link: wikipedia

Character History:
Recca was born 400 years ago to the head of the Hokage ninjas, sent to the future to escape the destruction of his own clan. Adopted as a baby by a fireworks maker, he grew up to be a relatively normal punk with an obsession for ninjas. He met a girl named Yanagi Sakoshita when she was getting harassed by a couple of boys and saved her from them. He discovered that she had healing abilities which she used to heal a dying dog. So he decided to share his secret with her. He could, for reasons unknown to him, control fire. He swore to become her ninja and to protect her always, ignoring how he promised his friends, Fuuko Kirisawa and Domon Ishijima, to be their ninjas if they beat him to a fight.

His mother, Kagerou, managed to find him after wandering for 400 years and tried to test his powers by pitting him against Fuuko and Tokiya Mikagami. She was training him for meeting Kurei, his older half-brother who also managed to travel to the future. Kurei, ordered by his adopted father, Kouran Mori, had Yanagi kidnapped along with Recca’s history professor who was knowledgeable about the history of the Hokage ninjas. Kouran Mori was after the secret to immortality, which was possible from either exploiting the girl with the healing powers or by finding the secrets to the super powerful weapons harnessed by the Hokage ninjas: the madougu.

Thus starts Recca’s mission to protect his princess (Yanagi), break his mother’s curse of immortality and to punch the living daylights out his brother. This being a 90s shounen manga, he’s aided by his friends: Fuuko, Domon, Mikagami (they’re not really friendly friends), Kogane and the new ones that they beat up and made along the way.

Personality:

Recca is a lot like your standard 90s shounen series hero. He’s brash, he’s cocky, he’s a bit of a punk. He’s not very smart. In fact, he only gets good grades in history classes and that’s if the topic has something to do with ninjas. He’s hot headed and he’s known for getting into fights. He pulls pranks. Sometimes he steals fireworks from his father’s workshop to either show off or use for fights. Overall, Recca’s not very refined.

However, he’s the type of person who values honor. He values honor over reason, as some of his fights have shown. And he has this very old-fashioned view on things. For example, he will never ever hit a girl (unless she’s Fuuko, Fuuko doesn’t count), even in a fight. He believes in fulfilling his set goals in a manner that makes the people he cares about happy, even if it means sacrificing himself. He can come across as simple minded as far as his philosophies go, because he just couldn’t be assed to complicate things. But these traits have made him suitable to lead a team like the Hokage. He’s not so serious as to stop being a friend to his team mates, and he’s no tactician as far as planning ahead goes, but his attitude and beliefs are helpful during stressful situations.

Oh, and as far as romance goes, he’s dumber than a fifth grader.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

Heh. Don’t be shocked when I tell you, but I’m a modern day ninja. You can call me that.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

Tabi socks are an important part of a ninja’s outfit!

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

That one time when Hime stopped talking to me I—- No! It’s nothing!

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

No, they’re always planning something. I’ll hit them back twice as hard.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

Do-Me-S-Ti-Cate? What’s that? Sounds dirty.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

If someone’s suffering, I have to help them. We’ll figure a way out of this together.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

A plate. Why?

08. Do you trust yourself?

Yes.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

It wouldn’t be something only I would know if I told you.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

Yeah, those morons wouldn’t know what to do without me. And Hime! And mom!

Character Name: Spock
Canon: Star Trek (2009 movie version)
Reference Link: link

Character History:
Born on the planet Vulcan, Spock was raised like any other Vulcan child, trained to live by only reason and logic and the repression of emotions. The only difference was that Spock was only half Vulcan. The other half—due to his mother—was human, a race that Vulcans viewed as illogical and impulsive. With this damning fact, Spock was faced with constant challenges both from his peers as well as himself, trying to find his place in the universe. His struggles eventually found him at the top of his class and before the Vulcan Science Academy for admission. Spock turned down this prestigious position, however, when his human heritage was claimed as a "disadvantage." He then joined Starfleet Academy, graduated, and went on to become a commander, serving aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain Pike.

Answering a distress call from Vulcan on the maiden voyage of the Enterprise, the ship warped into a trap which would cause both Captain Pike to be taken prisoner as well as the destruction of Vulcan. With only minutes to spare, Spock beamed to the surface to save his planet's elders—only to lose his mother right in front of him. Dismayed, Spock fought to suppress any emotion he felt and continued his command of the ship ... until James T. Kirk coerced him to show rage by accusing him of never having loved his human mother. And boy, did Spock rage. Realizing he nearly killed Kirk, he resigns his command due to being emotionally compromised.

After some minor emo and a heart-to-heart with his father on the merit of emotions, Spock returned to the bridge, back and ready for action. Working with the now-Captain Kirk, the Enterprise defeated the Romulans and saved Earth. All in a day's work of a pointy-eared Starfleet officer.

Personality:
Viewed as cold and emotionless by humans and others alike, Spock relies on logic and reasoning for all of his decisions. Outwardly, it doesn't seem like he's affected by emotions such as anger, affection, excitement, sadness or anything of the sort. Because of his childhood on Vulcan, Spock strived to honor Vulcan tradition to suppress or think past all emotional influence with rigid emotional self-control through extreme mental discipline. But Spock had his work cut out for him being half human, a race known for irrational choices and impulsive actions. Through training, Spock succeeded to repress his emotions ... for the most part.

This doesn't mean that Spock is unfeeling. On the contrary, Vulcans are a very emotional race, despite many Vulcans claiming otherwise. Even full Vulcans have moments of emotional outbursts, and Spock is no different. He comes to care for Uhura during their days at the Starfleet Academy, though he does keep his relationship with her somewhat secret. When Spock loses his home planet and mother, he himself claims that he is angry enough to kill, going so far as to attack Kirk when goaded.

Spock is also highly intelligent, as evidence of him being the Chief Science Officer of the Enterprise. He is quick-thinking and always comes up with multiple options even in a hopeless situation. This also gives him confidence and a commanding presence aboard ship ... as well as often coming across as a know-it-all bastard to some of his peers and lower ranking officers. But this attitude towards him does not stop him from being loyal to his crewmates and protecting them no matter what.

Writing Sample:
01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
My name, preferably. If you are also referring to my Starfleet rank, it would be Commander Spock.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
The majority of uniforms throughout Human history have required as much, though they were not necessary on Vulcan due to the native climate. However, they would be an asset should I find myself in extreme conditions.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Ignoring standard schedules of meditations, the greatest period I've experienced was approximately twenty Earth days during my childhood.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
I do not have emotional insecurities such as you describe or of any nature.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
None at this time.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Vulcans, as a matter of custom and policy, all emotional influence by living lives of rigid emotional self-control through mental discipline. As such, while witnessing misery is unfortunate, it does not impede my abilities.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Assuming the cake if of the Human confection, a fork would be most practical.

08. Do you trust yourself?
I am fully aware of my own abilities, as well as my limitations.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
I have confessed all crimes that I have committed in the past and resigned myself for disciplinary action for such crimes.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
I would imagine so.

Character History: Hawkeye is an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D., and a master archer who uses his unique bow and arrow set to launch everything from grappling hooks to bombs towards his targets. His uniqueness in the
“save-the-world-from-destructive-otherworldly-powers” team known as Avengers is that he is 100% human. Though he bears the title of the “World’s Greatest Marksman”, Hawkeye’s skills and talents are cultured through a mix of blood, sweat, and naturally damn good eye sight. Hawkeye is also known for being an expert marksman, exceptional fencer and acrobat.

Hawkeye’s past is a bit mysterious and tragic, (and involves a lot of Marvel retconning) but he grew up in a circus carnival, learning his trade.
After some time doing shady criminal things, he was eventually recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. working for Nick Fury and the organization as an agent. He is an orphan and due to the sniper aspect of his work, a natural loner who prefers to observe things from afar. Content with being under the radar and off by himself, his best friend is Natasha Romanov (The Black Widow); a friendship built of the fact that both of them have a skill set that keeps them loners.

Personality:
Hawkeye is easygoing and uncomplicated though he has a quick tongue and a snarky sense of humor. He tends to react rather than act in his interactions with people and so winds up the quiet one in the background without minding much. He respects others for their abilities and at the same time is willing to give others a second chance rather than dismiss them because of their ways. Hawkeye realizes that he is not a “superhero” like the others but has no problems with the limitations of his humanity. He knows what he is good at and he knows he’s the best at it- it’s not arrogance, it’s professional pride.

A man who doesn’t have much of a private life outside of work, Hawkeye likes what he does, enjoys working with the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and doesn’t care much about the complexities or politics. A simple man with a level head and a sniper’s mentality, Hawkeye trusts in his upper management to take care of the paperwork and just tell him where, when and what to shoot. In return, he makes sure to always hit the target.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Hawkeye.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Yes, clean socks keeps from having athlete's foot you know.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Two weeks, two days, seventeen hours and forty-two minutes in Iran waiting for a target. Would have been longer, but got a call from the boss.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
No. They might be. So?

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Peregrine Falcon. They’re fast.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Nope.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Whatever it gets served on? I don't care.

08. Do you trust yourself?
Of course.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
Then I wouldn’t be the only one who knows, would I?

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Maybe Natasha. Maybe not.

Character Name: Harleen Quinzel, alias Harley Quinn
Canon: DC Comics / DC Animated (origin and personality are the same in both)
Reference Link: Wikipedia and DC Wikia

Character History: Harleen Quinzel grew up in Brooklyn with an unrepentant con artist father. When the time came for her to attend Gotham State University on a gymnastics scholarship, she decided to study psychiatry so she could understand why he treated his family the way he did. It was at GSU that she realized her attraction to extreme personalities and the fame associated with the costumed villains so prevalent in the city. Hoping for an early breakthrough career, she interned at Arkham Asylum and pressed for the chance at private sessions with its most notorious patient, the Joker.

However, instead of producing a miracle cure and writing bestselling books about him, he saw her for the easy mark she was and manipulated her into falling in love with him. Perhaps not even the Joker could have anticipated the depths of her loyalty to him. Going above and beyond his twisted call of duty, she dons a jester outfit and takes on his moniker for her, "Harley Quinn." The rechristened young doctor is firmly attached to him in a tumultuous on-again off-again relationship from then on as Gotham's clown princess of crime.

Personality: Harley is a high-energy, laugh a minute, hurricane of good cheer and general destruction. Her emotions can change at the drop of a hat and swing between extremes, but tend to stay positive. If she's on your side she can be fiercely and unquestionably loyal, often at great personal risk. If she's not, well, look out. Her playful and zany act can hide how deeply, deeply crazy she actually is. She'd call a nuclear bomb a funny little joke, as long as she wasn't caught in the explosion. And hey, what's a little good-natured torture and terrorism between friends?

Harley is more than willing to go to extreme and dangerous measures if she feels cornered. Or if someone tells her to. Or, heck, if she's feeling a little bored and maybe it would be funny. Above all else, Harley needs to stay entertained because if she starts getting ideas of her own then there's no telling what lengths she'll go to for a little fun. Even the great Batman has trouble predicting this dizzy dame.

Writing Sample:
01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Harley Quinn! Duh.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Well, that depends on a few things, doesn't it? Like, are the floors carpeted or nice and smooth and good for sliding on? Because if it's smooth then yes. Yes, I need socks. Whoosh! Slip! Slide! Wheeee!

But if there are carpets then obviously I ain't gonna need socks because then you just get static buildup and I'd be shocking everything I touch and zapping the crap out of people and oh my gosh no I changed my mind. Zapping people sounds hilarious. I need to do that.

So yeah, I am definitely pro-sock.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Does humming count as talking? What about whistling? Or chewing gum? 'Cause if they don't count then I can be quiet for so long, but if they do count then I guess the answer is … Never? Pretty much never. Oh! Oh, wait! Sometimes I'm sleeping! So however long I'm sleeping, that's how long I'm not talking. … Wait, does snoring count?

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
Hahaha, what? No way! Why would they do that? Those guys are my friends, and they know I'd beat the crap out of 'em if they tried anything.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Hyenas! Geez, that's the easiest question ever. They're so smart and cuddly and have a great sense of humor. Did you know you can train them to eat people?

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
Only if I'm laughing too hard.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Are we getting philosophical here, or maybe it's some new kind of psychological profiling test? Maybe there's something in the cake, like a knife or a file! Y'know, those are surprisingly unhelpful for breaking out of prisons. Just hypothetically speaking, of course, not that I've tried either. Sneaking out with the laundry doesn't work either. It's like movies have been lying to me this whole time! … Wait, what was the question again? I forgot. Oh right. Fork.

08. Do you trust yourself?
Sure! Somebody has to, and it might as well be me!

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
I, uh. Um. Well, I guess there was this one thing-- Hey, wait a minute. I know this trick! Where's a lawyer when you need one?

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
They'd darn well better!

Character Information

Character Name: Leo Baskerville [personal profile] foil
Canon: Pandora Hearts (Chapter 65)
Reference Link: Pandora Hearts Wiki: Leo Baskerville, Chains.

Character History: [ Super summarized version as Leo's story intertwines with 50 billion other people and I didn't want to drop a huge novel trying to explain it. I did add a few extra links to the reference section that might be helpful if you're not familiar with the universe of Pandora Hearts ]

Leo's life is rather complex because part of his existence is not his own. He is designated the next bodily successor for Glen Baskerville, the head of the Baskerville family. He carries both the internal voices and sometimes personality traits established by previous 'Glen's.

Leo's father died in an accident when he was very young, and later, his mother was devoured by a chain (see above for information). His childhood was spent in The House of Fianna, an orphanage, in Sablier. He spends a majority of his time developing an interest in books and music - both of which he uses to escape the fact that he is different than other children. He can see golden specs of the Abyss with his eyes. When he was younger, he kept his bangs exceptionally long so they would block out what he sees. This lasts until he gradually forms a friendship with Elliot Nightray, who offers him to be a servant. Elliot gives Leo glasses so he doesn't have to keep his bangs grown out.

They form a tight bond where they are honest and constantly protective of each other. Leo will easily pick up a gun to defend Elliot, even if he is horrible with it. Elliot won't think twice about pushing Leo out of the way of danger. The only person Leo actually cares about is Elliot, and he has no issues removing an obstacle in Elliot's way, whether it is someone else or himself. Bad luck follows Leo, however, and because of him, Elliot is badly wounded. To prevent him from dying, the voices of the previous Glens instruct Leo to save Elliot using a contract with the chain Humpty Dumpty, who tends to lash out and murder people throughout Elliot's life. Elliot represses these memories, but eventually this event comes to light, and Elliot, rather than make more people suffer and die, or feel guilty forcing someone to kill him rejects the chain and dies.

After losing his best friend and master, Leo loses it and Glen begins to take over. He goes into a self destructive mode that borders hysteria. He claims to want to destroy everything, and drop their world into The Abyss. It's only after a good punch from Oz and being reminded that Elliot wouldn't have wanted to see Leo like this does he remember what he really feels. Just as he's finally calming down, Jack uses Oz's body to impale Leo. This is the canon point which he's cloned from.

Personality: For the most part, Leo is running away from himself. He's reserved, quiet, and very level-headed, but he has a breaking and a boiling point which are quickly reached and rather explosive, turning into outright violence which he'll direct at people or objects with equal strength. He's truthful and observant without fear of calling others out on their mistakes, but he has a soft spot for similar personalities - those running away from something - and he'll accept them easier, often with kindness to their situations as long as they don't call him weird by any means. He has a very wide range of emotions, but they're usually extremes. I would not be surprised if some of the previous Glens' memories don't leak into the cloning process and complicate things further.

Writing Sample/Survey

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Leo, even though I'll lose that name to 'Glen' eventually.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
They would be helpful, proper, and warm.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Generally, I prefer silence to a lot of chatter unless I'm prompted for an answer to a question or someone's raging in the same room and I need to correct him. It isn't uncommon that I'm quiet for long periods of time while reading a good book so those periods are probably longest.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
I wouldn't be surprised; Everyone has their own agenda. Being suspicious of their intentions only matters to me if they plan to hurt someone I care about.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
... I know a Rabbit and a Raven that need to settle down.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
No. I can act if needed. It's better for me to things clearly and be rational about what needs to be said or done.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
I prefer a spoon.

08. Do you trust yourself?
No, but I'm tired of hiding.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
Out of necessity, I murdered a whole city in another life, but the worst thing I've done is lead to Elliot's death. It's my fault. All my fault... I don't want to talk about it anymore.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
No one else but Elliot. I know someone else who would say he does, but he barely knows me.

Elliot Nightray

[personal profile] dusty 2012-07-01 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Character Name: Elliot Nightray
Canon: Pandora Hearts
Reference Link: Elliot Nightray on Pandora Wikia

Character History:

Elliot was born into a very rich household, and is the youngest of his siblings, to which there were four not including Vincent and Gilbert who were adopted into the family when Elliot was very young. Elliot was told to stay away from his adopted brothers and did for a time before curiosity got the best of him and he quickly became friends with his new siblings, especially Gilbert, though when he is grown he doesn't show the affection in a way most brothers would. His childhood was plagued with death and horror as his family was haunted by a murderer known as 'The Head Hunter' that would cut the head off a person.

His personalty was very brash and stayed thus, even after meeting Leo his servant and best friend in Sablier [the site of a horrendous tragedy a hundred years before]. Leo did help temper him, though he didn't really change until he met Oz Vessalius who he instantly hated simply because he was from the Vessalius family which were all considered heroes because of what Jack Vessalius did a hundred years prior in Sablier (the ruined city that he met Leo in.) There was also a long time running hate between both families, the Nightrays having been blamed with the death of Oz's mother, which has yet to be proved true or false. This hate slowly tempered into a friendship after both boys learned each others stories and the skeletons they kept in their closets, this learning happened through some harrowing experiences which included both nearly dying for the other.

As the story goes on, it is revealed later, at Oz's coming of age ceremony, that the Head Hunter that Elliot spent most of his young life hunting and hating, was actually himself with the help of a chain, Humpty Dumpty. He contracted with the chain illegally with the help of his servant, Leo, when he was left with a fatal wound inflicted by the chain in it's need to protect Leo from any harm, real or contrived. (Leo being the next vessel of the many personalities that collectively make up Glen, the true hero of Sablier.) Slowly, his memories become clear to him, and as he sees everything he has done, and the injuries inflicted to his chain begin to kill him (because the clock on his chest that counts down his contract is close to running out of time) he rejects the chain, effectively committing suicide to save anyone else, namely Oz, from carrying his death on their shoulders. [He will be pulled from just before he rejects the chain.]

* chain - a mix between a demon and a spirit that you call forth to fight or protect depending on it's powers. There are both Legal and Illegal contracts. Legal contractors are spared the death that comes at the end of the contract, the seal that would usually be placed on their chest in the image of a clock is placed into an item leaving the owner unharmed. An illegal contract is just that, the exact opposite of a legal one, the seal is on their person and upon completion they are dragged down into the abyss, or the worlds version of the afterlife which in the current time is more like a hell.

Personality:

Elliot is very brash, and loud about his opinions. He starts out with a very narrowed view of life, that slowly changes as the story progresses and he meets more and more people. He loves his family more then anything else and hates anything that hurts them, with that feeling extending to Leo, his servant and best friend who he will go to alarming lengths to protect. He feels emotions very strongly and isn't above shouting and punching people if they give up. Elliot abhors seeing people being self deprecating and will either be very angry with them or shout at them until they understand that their life is not as bad as it could be. He believes very strongly in not letting fate decide your life, and taking your life by the reigns.

In that sense, he takes responsibility for things he's done and tries to be very noble in that way. Even after he died in the series, people said that he was very honorable and noble about his life. He will help people when they need it, and will do whatever he can for people he cares about, even if they don't know he truly cares of about them because of the facade he puts on. He will never run away from anything, which is what hurts him so much when it is revealed to him that his chain helped him forget a lot of the painful memories of his life, namely the evil things he did.

Writing Sample/Survey:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Elliot, of course, it is my name.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
Of course, what sane person would not wear socks with a uniform!

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
I don't like silence, though I don't like talking when I'm playing the piano, it ruins the music.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
Someone is always planning something it seems, but let them try anything with me or my friends they won't know what hit them!

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
To be completely honest I think a large cat would be interesting. Even though my family are dog people... cats are very loving.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
I hate it, I hate when they can not get over it. Mourn, scream, cry if you must but don't dwell on it. You can't do anything for it after a point and it's a waste of peoples times if you won't get past it. Especially if someone is willing to help you.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
A fork.

08. Do you trust yourself?
I used to, but recently I'm staring to wonder.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
I ... I killed most of my family and made myself forget about it.. how cowardly can I be?

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Leo, definitely Leo... and maybe Oz, the kid is too emotional about that kind of thing. He'd probably cry like a baby.

Character Name: Garry
Canon: Ib (Horror Museum)
Reference Link: here is the wiki

Character History: Unfortunately, there isn't much background provided for Garry, but what we do know can be assumed through the experiences of the main character of the series, Ib. One day, Garry decided that he wanted to visit the Guertena art exhibit and while he was looking around, he suddenly found himself in a strange world made up of Guertena's art. Along the way, he stumbled upon a blue rose which happened to be a physical connection to his life. If that rose wilted, wounds would suddenly appear on his body so he had to make sure to take care of it. Well! He actually ends up getting attacked by one of Guertena's artworks which pretty much placed him into a near-death state. Luckily, Ib stumbled upon his body and helped to revive his rose to full health.

When he woke up and talked to Ib for a bit, he decided to stick with her and together, they would try to find a way out. They would soon meet another little girl named Mary who mentioned that she was also lost and she soon joined the party. However, during a time when the party was separated (with Ib and Mary together and Garry being alone), Garry found out that Mary was just another one of Guertena's artworks. He realized that Ib was in danger since she was alone with Mary and that he had to hurry and find them. Unfortunately, Mary soon discovered that Garry knew the truth and decided to get rid of him. Luckily he escaped with Ib before she could do any damage and the two of them ran away to quickly find a way out.

After a bit of exploring, they stumbled upon Mary's original picture frame. Mary caught up and realized that they were dangerously close to her picture and threatened to kill them if they didn't leave. When they weren't moving fast enough, she suddenly ran towards them which is when Ib ran towards the picture frame and set it on fire. The frame burned and the glass shattered which in turn destroyed Mary.

Afterwards, they found a way out and together, Ib and Garry made it back to the real world. They parted ways, but made a promise that they would eventually meet up again.

Personality: Garry is a genuine nice guy.

That seems like a pretty lame generalization for someone, but it really is the basic core of his personality. He is the type of guy that will go out of his way to make sure a complete stranger is alright even if he himself is in pain. But at the same time, if he is in pain, he will hide it from those around him to keep them all from worrying. Generally, he keeps an optimistic smile and will do things for others without expecting anything in return. He just really cares for people! And because of that, he can become really protective especially if the people he's watching over can't protect themselves (such as smaller children).

However, while he has moments where he can be considered brave, it doesn't mean he isn't a natural scaredy cat. He actually freaks out rather easily at scary things. Even things like weird-looking dolls will make him feel uncomfortable rather quickly. Of course he'll be quick to deny his freakouts, but his screams are kind of hard to miss. So yes, he gets surprised pretty easily!

Hilariously enough, you'd think his fear would leave him to be more careful, but he can actually be a bit impulsive. For example, only after a moment of suspicion, he quickly joins up with Ib and Mary without thinking of the consequences that could happen. There are also choices in the game where he can just kick creepy things over or into walls. Still, some of those actions comes from his soft-hearted nature and wanting to be protective.

Also there are two bonus facts that should probably be mentioned! In Japanese, he actually has a feminine speech pattern using pronouns that men don't normally use. He says it's good to have a more gentle speech pattern, but there isn't real background knowledge for why he prefers it however.

Also, he thinks macaroons are the bomb-diggity. Well, he likes them very much anyway.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

Garry is fine really.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

Are uniforms necessary? I don't think I really need them . . . Well, to answer your question, I guess I wouldn't say I would require to have socks, but I do think it would be useful to have them. More so if the shoes aren't very comfortable.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

I guess those days where I'm just by myself. I've never really thought about it.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

. . .

It's a bit of a long story. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable talking about it. At least I can say that I'm not really dealing with that sort of thing now.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

. . .

I don't think I understand this question . . .

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

I think if someone's unhappy, I would hope that I could be there for them if I can. I'm pretty sure I'd find something to do to help.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

A fork is probably best to eat cake with because it'd be pretty messy otherwise. Will there be cake afterwards? I hope so!

08. Do you trust yourself?

I believe that I can find a way if it's necessary. Those around me can't trust me if I can't trust myself, right? So I try to believe in myself whenever I can.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

I'm pretty sure I haven't committed a crime that's worth mentioning. Though when I think about it, it could be said that I was involved with . . . some criminal-type affairs recently.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

Yes, I do think so. There's this nice, little girl that I met recently and she's the kind of person that worries about those she cares about. But I really wouldn't want her to so I don't plan on disappearing anytime soon.

Character Name: Jane Foster
Canon: Thor (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Reference Link: Thor

Character History:

When you accidentally run someone over with a car you don't expect that someone to be the God of Thunder from Asgard, exiled to Earth for being arrogant and starting a war on his own. But this is exactly what happens to brilliant astrophysicist Jane Foster in the middle of the night out in the desert. Jane started doing particle research at Culver University in New York, then continued with post-doctorate work there as an astrophysicist. Not too long after, she applied for and was given permission to study anomalous particle phenomena in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico. Together with her assistant Darcy Lewis and mentor Dr. Eric Selvig, she’s looking for signs of wormholes when they accidentally come upon the gateway through which Thor arrives. In her eagerness to take a closer look Jane hits him with her car, rendering him unconscious. The Bifrost wormhole bringing Thor to Earth is a breakthrough for Jane's work, though a short-lived joy when the organization S.H.I.E.L.D. forcibly takes all of Jane's research data after having observed the wormhole themselves. Years of painstakingly gathered material is lost to her.
When Thor discovers Mjolnir's nearby, Jane decides to help him after an initial bout of doubt. They drive to the location only to find S.H.I.E.L.D. has gotten there first. Jane watches as Thor tries to retrieve his hammer from the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, and also sees how he fails and gets captured. Jane convinves Dr. Selvig to help get him out of there, and Thor is given the false identity of Jane’s ex boyfriend: Dr. Donald Blake. He returns with Selvig and ends up explaining the Bifrost bridge and his view of the universe to Jane, who is trying to understand what she’s just learned. In her words, she’s just discovered an Enstein Rosen-bridge, something she’s been trying to find for a long time, but wasn’t sure was possible.

When The Warriors Three and Sif suddenly come knocking on Jane’s door, she basically drops everything in surprise. Even if she’s still sceptical to Thor’s story things seem a bit too real to not be true. They’re interrupted by commotion when the Destroyer sent by Loki arrives. The warriors take it on while Jane and Thor takes on evacuation the townsfolk, as Thor is just as mortal as any other human at the moment and of no help. When he gets fatally injured after going up against the machine on his own, Jane believes he is dead and it takes a little to pull her away from him as they start to flee. Before they get far, Mjolnir arrives, Thor gets his powers back and ends the fight in a matter of moments. Jane is impressed by Thor being who he is and he takes her to the landing spot for the Bifrost bridge to show her the road. The battle isn’t quite over and Thor promises that he’ll return for her once he’s dealt with Loki.

Sadly the Bifrost wormhole is destroyed and the road to Earth from Asgard with it. Jane continues her research to find a way to open the bridge from her side, as Heimdall tells Thor at the end that she’s searching for him and a way to see him again.

Personality:

To Jane, Science is everything and comes with a capital S. She believes that scientists have long been invested in searching for the truth, and she stubbornly stands by this belief. That it’s the ultimate knowledge, and she will keep searching for it. Science has an answer to everything, and she is determined and strong willed to go against the advices of many to seek it even if it might pose danger to both her and others. She’s a tad reckless, but does keep a sense of self preservation sometimes, though it might not always seem that way. She’s obstinate, strong and has an independent spirit. She takes her time to listen to new ideas and how to interpret the world as in when she decides to help Thor despite his obvious difference from anyone she’s met. She’s not used to his behaviour towards her and is incredibly awkward around him at first as a result, almost near flailing.

She’s not adverse to thinking outside the box, or to input from other people. For example Jane appreciates her assistant Darcy, and her take on things, despite being a political science major with no real knowledge of astrophysics. This maybe be in small part as she was the only one to apply for the job, but her unique perspective offers benefits even if her random personality leads to rambling on other topics, like when Jane gets irritated at her for talking about her iPhone being swiped after S.H.I.E.L.D. confiscated all their equipment.

Jane is not a damsel in distress and doesn’t quite like to acknowledge what she can’t achieve because there will always be a way, no matter how far or hard she has to work to get there. She would stand up, talk back and even get into more trouble if she didn’t have someone to hold her back. Like when her mentor Dr Selvig attempts to talk her out of things, with varied results. She looks up to him but doesn’t always follow his advice. She also doesn’t dwell long on the loss of her research and decides to start over again from scratch because she won’t give up. After Thor’s departure Jane picks up her research yet again, determined to find another wormhole so she can cross through the gateway and find him again.

She will not wait for things to happen if she can help it since she'll get into action and fix things herself to the best of her abilities. She takes... risks since she's curious. For a lack of better words she’s a total science geek.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?

Dr. Foster. Or Jane, if you want.

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?

That depends on what kind of uniform it is, but socks are usually nice.

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?

You would be surprised about how quickly time passes when you're concentrated on work. I don't even remember, actually. Darcy could be talking to me for several minutes at a time and I won’t even notice.

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?

No. I trust my friends.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?

Uhm... I don’t think that would be a good idea. Firstly, I wouldn’t even have time for a cat, I’d be too caught up in work to remember it. Secondly, who would domesticate a wild animal? If you want a pet, buy it from the pet store.

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?

What— what kind of question is that? Of course it would affect me, but I couldn’t just sit by idly and not care. Even if I might not be able to do much, I would do my very best to help.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?

A spoon, or a fork? Let’s go with a fork. I don’t think it matters much in the end.

08. Do you trust yourself?

I... Yes. I couldn’t expect anyone else to trust me if I didn’t trust myself first.

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.

You know, if I told you, I wouldn’t be the only one to know it anymore.

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?

Yeah, I think so. … I hope so.

Character Name: Tenjou Mitsuru
Canon: Barajou no Kiss
Reference Link: No good summary exists on the internet.

Character History: The Rhode Knights and their Dominion are responsible for keeping the devil’s seal. Supposedly. Really, the Association holds a lot of the cards, while the roses are either kept in the dark or regarded as tools. Tenjou, the White Rose, is the only one in the group having both background knowledge and any power with the organization. The carefully bred representative of the Tengoku Church, he has access to information and an actual position within the society, so while he may be considered a puppet, he’s less so of one than the disposable human sacrifice Seiran, or Mutsuki, who is more or less (probably more) Tenjou’s pet vampire analogue.

He spends the series as Anis’s least favorite, partially because of his personality but also because he appears to have no problem doing things by the Society’s book. Let those people bleed out because he doesn’t want to use Anis’s blood to heal them? Sure! Worst white mage ever. And all that stuff about cloning experiments, involuntary brain dives on his 200 year old amnesiac vampire? Girls don’t usually consider that kind of thing ideal white knight behavior. Plus his whole to love is to serve deal, to be used and abused. The society might have gotten their ideal knight, but Anis is a mostly normal girl, so she finds him more than kind of gross. Still, this hardly discourages him. Tenjou pursues her and does all he can for her and the saving the seal... even if his methods are less than savory.

Personality: Sparkly overdramatic rich boy, prone to gestures like giving away full life-size statues of himself in chocolate for BnK valentine’s day analogue, calling a limousine for the heroine to get to the store, casually abusing his powers as student council president to make the heroine spend more time with him, making offers to assemble 1000 of his followers to search for her lost choker, and dressing in a ridiculous Takarazuka style dress for the cross-dressing portion of an idol contest. Completely over-the-top, likes poetry and covering things in roses... The shoujo prince stuff notched up to eleven, making him very popular with the entire school.

Also, a sadomasochist troll, which makes him much less popular with Anis. Can’t have everything! As mentioned in the history section, he’s also more than a little bit of a cold bastard, when it comes to decision making about his duty. But while he may not give a damn about 99.9% of the people he sparkles at when it comes to choosing between them and Anis, he does have concern for a few... Even if it’s hardly normal concern. Other people may scold someone for worrying them after they got hurt staying out late, Tenjou will offer to break a few more bones in punishment before healing them back up. Not that he’ll admit to this being caring, either. Even insinuating it is another quick way for his vampire to earn a punishment, or to make Tenjou freeze up in disgust, even in the middle of a serious battle. ...honestly, the less said about Tenjou’s deeper feelings, the better. He may be on the side of dubious good, and out to save his Mistress in the end, but he’s definitely not the typical type of romantic protagonist.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called? My name is Tenjou Mitsuru, but given the freedom of choice... Aah! Mr. (Student Council) President, Father, Master, those may all have been titles I’ve had handed to me, but if you would... Mitsuru-sama suits me nicely.
02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform? Ankles, unused to wear and tear, scandalously bare and blistered, the fragile skin broken--! An attractive thought it may be, a good man brought low by such a petty oversight, but I reserve that kind of exquisite suffering for what Anis-sama will deign to inflict on me. I’ll have to insist upon them.
03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking? I have no specific figure to offer you, but I’m sure the answer can be found on file.
04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you? No. I am certain if they were, it would reported to me rather shortly. My followers are rather enthusiastically devoted. Ha ha ha.
05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate? I will allow Mutsuki to field this question, as he is intimately familiar with the answer.
06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery? My devotion is ever-unwavering.
07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake? None other than the elegant cake fork, narrower than the salad fork but form balanced perfectly with function, the left tine extra wide to allow it to cut even through the firm, deceptively flakey layers of baklava! What other answer would there be?
08. Do you trust yourself? [ this field was left blank ]
09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed. Ha ha ha. Certainly. But could I request you make sure you have all your affairs in order, first? Otherwise, “that” is not for your ears to hear. It’d reflect quite poorly on the Tengoku Church to allow such baseless rumors to circulate.
10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you? Ohhhh, to leave Lady Anis adrift, separated by the mercilessly fathomless sea of distance! My heart and hers forced apart so cruelly, I would be the shipwrecked passenger with his hope lost to despair on the verge of plunging back into the deadly ice water, rather than live apart all alone-! No, the mere thought of it brings me to my knees. I couldn’t stand for such a thing.

And Mutsuki would get lonely.

Character Name: Hitachiin Kaoru
Canon: Ouran High School Host Club
Reference Link: Wiki

Character History: Kaoru is one of a set of identical twins born to a disgustingly rich fashion designer. He and his brother, Hikaru, have spent their entire lives joined at the hip (figuratively) and, until meeting other members of the host club, let no one into the private world that the two of them built up around themselves. Even family was barred from getting that close to them. However, in middle school they met a pure hearted idiot, Tamaki Suoh, who eventually succeeded in badgering them into taking a step out of that world by joining a host club.

A year or two later, the Host Club took in a commoner student, Fujioka Haruhi, who found herself suddenly owing a debt. Since meeting her and growing to love the club and its members, the twins have begun to open up and step out into the real world more and are gradually letting their own individual personalities come to the surface more and more. They entertain female classmates for fun and profit, goof off with (or harass) fellow club members, and generally act like the spoiled rich brats that they are.

Personality: Kaoru is the more mature of the two brothers, a facet of his personality he tends to play down when around people he doesn't know well in order to keep them at a distance until he decides whether he thinks they're actually trustworthy or not. He's definitely more emotionally and socially aware than he lets on most of the time and is often the one to add some restraint to the pranks and taunting he and his brother enjoy. Some. He does still enjoy the childish games and teasing, especially picking on Tamaki (or anyone else they can get their hands on.) While he is often very keenly aware of the feelings of others, he makes a show of acting like he doesn't care—because he doesn't. Unless playing a joke is going to cause genuine harm or serious upset to someone, it's fun for him! And he's not ready to let go of getting to behave like a kid just yet.

Although he is nicer than his brother, he still has a habit of being blunt and a little demanding when dealing with people. He's also very oblivious to the ways of common people (read: anyone who isn't disgustingly rich) and refers to them as commoners, occasionally impressed at their ingenuity and other times being unable to understand their strange, poor people ways.

When it comes to people he's developed genuine fondness for, he has a protective streak. If a friend is actually harmed or significantly upset then he will defend them in kind. He's entirely capable of just snapping in anger and beating the daylights out of some thug of the day, even if he's the "mature" twin. And, in spite of his fondness for taunting and pranking even his most dear friends, he does try to avoid genuinely offending them and shows regret if he ever does cross them by mistake even if it's a slight error. (For example, selling Haruhi's cheap mechanical pencil.) And while he will show his mature side to people he's grown to trust more often, it's still a relatively uncommon occurrence. As stated before, he enjoys his childish games! Letting his mature side show is generally reserved for private or serious conversations.

Finally, there is his relationship with his brother, Hikaru. The two relied on each other almost solely, right up until Tamaki recruited them into the host club, and it's been a slow process getting them to genuinely open up to anyone other than themselves. They have an intense level of codependence on each other and have never even spent a full day apart from each other. They're also intensely protective of each other. However, it's begun to manifest in Kaoru as wanting them to learn to live a little more apart like healthy and well adjusted individuals do. He won't be happy at all about being separated from Hikaru for such an extended period of time, but because he's begun to adapt to the idea that they'll one day have individual lives and subtly nudge Hikaru towards developing relationships apart from him, he'll be able to tolerate it (very reluctantly). Especially when terrible games begin to happen; then he won't want Hikaru here period. Basically he is going to be troubled and miss Hikaru deeply, but in time will cope and even be grateful his brother hasn't also been sold to evil robots for the pursuit of questionable science.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Kaoru. Or Hikaru. It's up to you to guess~
02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
That depends entirely on what kind of footwear is included. In most cases, yes, but if you expect me to wear something like beach sandals then I'll pass. I don't want to get caught looking like an idiot tourist.
03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Ehh? Do you really expect people to keep track of that?
04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
There are probably plenty of people that are thinking things like that, but no one with enough power to actually do anything like it. It would be social or business suicide if they tried.
05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Hmm, perhaps an ocelot or another kind of small jungle cat. I don't want anything too big to manage, and jungle cats always have an elegant and impressive look.
06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
What kind of bizarre question is this? I guess sometimes there's nothing to say or do for someone, but a situation like that is rare. Usually it's just funny.
07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Anna Weatherley has some truly beautiful designs on her flatware. The yellow leaf pattern is a good choice if you want one that will complement most cake designs.
08. Do you trust yourself?
Why wouldn't I? You have to be a pretty pathetic person to not even trust yourself.
09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
None~ My brother and I are partners in crime, so there's no crime that only I know about.
10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Creepy question . . . Of course I'd be missed. Hikaru would probably hire an army to track me down if I went missing out of the blue.

Character Name: Suoh Tamaki
Canon: Ouran High School Host Club (anime)
Reference Link: wiki

Character History:
Tamaki is the illegitimate son of the patriarch to the stupidly wealthy Suoh family, and has always lived a life of luxury. It hasn't always been easy, however. He spent most of his childhood trying to comfort and entertain a sick mother, and didn't have many friends. Eventually he was taken on as the Suoh heir, forced to cut contact with his mother and deal with a cruel grandmother.

Still, he decided to make the best of things, and as soon as he got to high school, he founded the Ouran Host Club, a club dedicated to entertaining the bored girls of his prestigious high school. It was in this way that he met Haruhi, a "commoner" who incurred a large debt to the club, and proceeded to develop all kinds of feelings for her that were obvious to everyone but him.

Personality:
As a host, Tamaki is the self-proclaimed "prince type," a charismatic young man who endeavors to charm every woman he meets. Despite the fact that he can be rather narcissistic and obnoxious about this, however, his intentions are actually pretty good. He honestly, genuinely wants to make women happy (and people in general, really).

Tamaki is quite sensitive and shows a great deal of empathy and kindness toward others. He'll frequently go out of his way to help and befriend people, even those who would plot against him. Though he's fairly in-tune with other people's feelings, he can be ridiculously dense about his own, particularly his love for Haruhi. This is partially due to his family issues and desire to think of the Host Club as his family, but also it's because he's kind of a moron.

Especially when he's around his friends, Tamaki is less of a prince and more of a hyper, flamboyant idiot. Melodramatic and overly-emotional, his ego is easily bruised but will snap back into place the second he is complimented. In general, he's a playful derp who just wants to goof off and have fun.

Writing Sample:

01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Oh, I get a choice? Magnificent! You can call me King! King of the Ouran Host Club!

02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
That depends on the uniform, now doesn't it? Are we talking a school uniform, military uniform? Modern or period piece? Do we have a theme? You know, before I decide, can I get the thread count on the socks? Thanks!

03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
Several hours every night! I like to call it "sleep!"

04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
No, I can't say I've ever thought about it.

05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Hmm, I don't know! There are just so many good options. How about a grizzly bear? I've always thought they looked so fetching in their tutus and little hats. Think how delighted everyone will be when they step into the host club and see a real life teddy bear! We could teach it to serve tea!

06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
I can't afford to be incapacitated. I'd want to be able to help them, even if it's just a little.

07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
Well, I'm fond enough of the Rocaille flatware we have at the estate, but I'd have to say I'm really impressed by commoners' forks. Did you know they have a fork that's also a spoon? Brilliant! Never underestimate commoners' ingenuity!

08. Do you trust yourself?
Who wouldn't trust a face like this?

09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
You could say I'm criminally handsome! But I think that one's common knowledge~

10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Wh-what kind of a question is that? Of course they would! My whole club is waiting for Daddy to come home!

Character Name: Kiyama Hiroto
IC day they were dropped: Day 9
Transfer or desynchronization: transfer
(If you picked transfer) Reaction to product testing:

Honestly it really depends on what the testing was, mostly! But probably his backstory would have helped him taking the testing pretty well all things considered! He deeefinitely was a sad ball of feelings due to being alone the whole time, but I imagine he kept on doing all the product testing with determination and stuff because of the whole IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL YOU GIVE UP! and he would want to go back to his friends, so.

Like I said a lot depends on what product testing actually was but if it's general non traumatic TEST THIS PRODUCT then he will likely be sad but adjust quickly. If it is traumatic (LIKE DYING OVER AND OVER WHILE TESTING SHIT) then he will have way more issues about it, but will likely keep them to himself. and be a sad tiny.

Character Name: Rapunzel
IC day they were dropped: 13
Transfer or desynchronization: Desynchronization
(If you picked transfer) Reaction to product testing: Rapunzel would have absolutely hated it, being imprisoned, isolated and alone, it's just too many bad pings for her. She would have spent the entire time depressed. She'd try to keep her spirits up, find little ways to amuse herself and turn the testing into a game depending on what she was testing, but it would have still been absolutely awful for her and she'll have missed her team terribly.

If at any point Rapunzel saw Atlas and P-Body, she would have tried to talk with them and spend as much time with them as possible, communication would be easier than other test subjects might find it because she is a Disney Princess and interpreting seemingly unintelligent noises? What they're best at. Heck, she might have even tried to bond with GLaDOS if she spoke up at all, even if just to tell them to stop singing damn it, stockholm syndrome is a terrible thing.
