CONTACT/TEAM PREFERENCES
A comment separate from your app with your name, email, and team preferences. Making it a separate comment lets us keep it screened, thus keeping your team preferences private.
For the time zone field, feel free to make a note if working bizarre hours makes you effectively on a different time zone than stated.
"Team preferences" is a catch-all field for any thoughts you might have regarding your character's placement. For example, you might want a team that will put up with your character's sociopathy, or has a certain "feel" to it, or is friendly to your time zone, or maybe you don't think your character looks good in orange, and so on! This is also the spot to let us know if there are teams you DON'T want to be on. While you're not required to put anything here, don't say you have no preference unless you really, honestly have NOTHING to say on the subject! If you've already apped and realized you'd forgotten something? Make another comment!
THE APP
Character Name: self-explanatory
Canon: If the canon has multiple versions, please be specific.
Reference Link: A wiki link is preferable, but anything that has a summary of the canon works. If there is no picture on your link, please provide a reference picture as well. If there is really nothing to link, write a short (no more than 200 words) description of the canon and character appearance.

1. Fill out an IC survey (copypaste below)
2. Write a first or third person sample on the subject of your choice. (~300-500 words)

Canon: Thor (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Reference Link: Thor
Character History:
When you accidentally run someone over with a car you don't expect that someone to be the God of Thunder from Asgard, exiled to Earth for being arrogant and starting a war on his own. But this is exactly what happens to brilliant astrophysicist Jane Foster in the middle of the night out in the desert. Jane started doing particle research at Culver University in New York, then continued with post-doctorate work there as an astrophysicist. Not too long after, she applied for and was given permission to study anomalous particle phenomena in Puente Antiguo, New Mexico. Together with her assistant Darcy Lewis and mentor Dr. Eric Selvig, she’s looking for signs of wormholes when they accidentally come upon the gateway through which Thor arrives. In her eagerness to take a closer look Jane hits him with her car, rendering him unconscious. The Bifrost wormhole bringing Thor to Earth is a breakthrough for Jane's work, though a short-lived joy when the organization S.H.I.E.L.D. forcibly takes all of Jane's research data after having observed the wormhole themselves. Years of painstakingly gathered material is lost to her.
When Thor discovers Mjolnir's nearby, Jane decides to help him after an initial bout of doubt. They drive to the location only to find S.H.I.E.L.D. has gotten there first. Jane watches as Thor tries to retrieve his hammer from the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, and also sees how he fails and gets captured. Jane convinves Dr. Selvig to help get him out of there, and Thor is given the false identity of Jane’s ex boyfriend: Dr. Donald Blake. He returns with Selvig and ends up explaining the Bifrost bridge and his view of the universe to Jane, who is trying to understand what she’s just learned. In her words, she’s just discovered an Enstein Rosen-bridge, something she’s been trying to find for a long time, but wasn’t sure was possible.
When The Warriors Three and Sif suddenly come knocking on Jane’s door, she basically drops everything in surprise. Even if she’s still sceptical to Thor’s story things seem a bit too real to not be true. They’re interrupted by commotion when the Destroyer sent by Loki arrives. The warriors take it on while Jane and Thor takes on evacuation the townsfolk, as Thor is just as mortal as any other human at the moment and of no help. When he gets fatally injured after going up against the machine on his own, Jane believes he is dead and it takes a little to pull her away from him as they start to flee. Before they get far, Mjolnir arrives, Thor gets his powers back and ends the fight in a matter of moments. Jane is impressed by Thor being who he is and he takes her to the landing spot for the Bifrost bridge to show her the road. The battle isn’t quite over and Thor promises that he’ll return for her once he’s dealt with Loki.
Sadly the Bifrost wormhole is destroyed and the road to Earth from Asgard with it. Jane continues her research to find a way to open the bridge from her side, as Heimdall tells Thor at the end that she’s searching for him and a way to see him again.
Personality:
To Jane, Science is everything and comes with a capital S. She believes that scientists have long been invested in searching for the truth, and she stubbornly stands by this belief. That it’s the ultimate knowledge, and she will keep searching for it. Science has an answer to everything, and she is determined and strong willed to go against the advices of many to seek it even if it might pose danger to both her and others. She’s a tad reckless, but does keep a sense of self preservation sometimes, though it might not always seem that way. She’s obstinate, strong and has an independent spirit. She takes her time to listen to new ideas and how to interpret the world as in when she decides to help Thor despite his obvious difference from anyone she’s met. She’s not used to his behaviour towards her and is incredibly awkward around him at first as a result, almost near flailing.
She’s not adverse to thinking outside the box, or to input from other people. For example Jane appreciates her assistant Darcy, and her take on things, despite being a political science major with no real knowledge of astrophysics. This maybe be in small part as she was the only one to apply for the job, but her unique perspective offers benefits even if her random personality leads to rambling on other topics, like when Jane gets irritated at her for talking about her iPhone being swiped after S.H.I.E.L.D. confiscated all their equipment.
Jane is not a damsel in distress and doesn’t quite like to acknowledge what she can’t achieve because there will always be a way, no matter how far or hard she has to work to get there. She would stand up, talk back and even get into more trouble if she didn’t have someone to hold her back. Like when her mentor Dr Selvig attempts to talk her out of things, with varied results. She looks up to him but doesn’t always follow his advice. She also doesn’t dwell long on the loss of her research and decides to start over again from scratch because she won’t give up. After Thor’s departure Jane picks up her research yet again, determined to find another wormhole so she can cross through the gateway and find him again.
She will not wait for things to happen if she can help it since she'll get into action and fix things herself to the best of her abilities. She takes... risks since she's curious. For a lack of better words she’s a total science geek.
Writing Sample:
01. If given a choice, what would you like to be called?
Dr. Foster. Or Jane, if you want.
02. Do you require socks to be part of your uniform?
That depends on what kind of uniform it is, but socks are usually nice.
03. Not including mandatory periods of silence, what is the longest you have gone without talking?
You would be surprised about how quickly time passes when you're concentrated on work. I don't even remember, actually. Darcy could be talking to me for several minutes at a time and I won’t even notice.
04. Are you plagued by suspicions that other people, including coworkers and relatives, may be doing things behind your back that will hurt you?
No. I trust my friends.
05. Other than a large egret, what wild animal would you like to domesticate?
Uhm... I don’t think that would be a good idea. Firstly, I wouldn’t even have time for a cat, I’d be too caught up in work to remember it. Secondly, who would domesticate a wild animal? If you want a pet, buy it from the pet store.
06. Are you functionally incapacitated by witnessing other people's misery?
What— what kind of question is that? Of course it would affect me, but I couldn’t just sit by idly and not care. Even if I might not be able to do much, I would do my very best to help.
07. What is your favorite flatware for, purely as an example, eating cake?
A spoon, or a fork? Let’s go with a fork. I don’t think it matters much in the end.
08. Do you trust yourself?
I... Yes. I couldn’t expect anyone else to trust me if I didn’t trust myself first.
09. Please list a crime that only you would know that you have committed.
You know, if I told you, I wouldn’t be the only one to know it anymore.
10. If you disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss you?
Yeah, I think so. … I hope so.
