CONDUCT

☢ Don't be a dick. The most important rule! It should go without saying, but things like godmoding and infomoding count as dick moves, as do bashing or bullying other players.

☢ Communicate! RPs with a team-based setup like this one require a great deal of communication to work! If you have something that needs to be worked out with another player, please make the effort to try to speak with them directly before bringing it to a mod. If you cannot handle yourself maturely and treat others respectfully, you do not belong here!

☢ All that having been said, if there are issues in which a player’s actions - IC or OOC - are causing significant disruptions to others' enjoyment of the game, it is far better to report them to a mod than to do nothing at all.

☢ Be aware that this game may contain adult themes. Please take NC-17 rated scenes to your personal journals.

☢ Anon comments, whether made to a meme or directly to a player, do not count as mature and respectful communication. If you cannot sign your name to what you are saying, then perhaps you should not be saying it in the first place.

APPING

☢ You may app one character and one personality construct. That's it, folks.

☢ Portal-universe characters (such as Chell, Cave Johnson, or Rattman) are not appable. That goes for Half-Life characters too! The exception to this rule are the personality cores, who are appable (more info on app pages when they are up). GLaDOS is also non-appable, since she serves as a mod-run NPC.

☢ Characters must come from an established canon. You may not app duplicates of taken characters (unless, of course, they are canonical duplicates, such as CLAMP clones).

☢ Most forms of canons are appable, however! Please wait until your canon has completed its first season/book/movie/game/etc before apping. This is to prevent characters from having to retcon and to eliminate the temptation to app while a character is still lacking in canon out of the worry that someone else will snipe them.

☢ Due to the plot themes and clone-based game mechanics, non-organic characters (robots in particular) are not appable.

☢ DEAD characters, however, have two options: In general, they should be pulled from before their demise (even mere seconds before their demise is acceptable, even if they've already contracted a fatal wound), or - in the case of ghosts and other characters who have post-death canon - can be apped with the assumption that they have no body in storage like the rest of the characters.

TEAM PLACEMENT POLICIES

☢ Team placements are made on Sundays, give or take a day.

☢ Requests, no matter how big or small, will always be considered first! Don't hesitate to request EXACTLY what you want in your team placement, and even feel free to add on while you're still waiting in queue.

☢ In a case where a request cannot be fulfilled or even just needs to be clarified, the apper will be contacted before placement to work out a solution.

☢ Canonmates (who are not enemies) will go on the same team if possible, unless they specifically request otherwise.

☢ Barring requests and shared canons, characters will generally be placed in teams where they seem like they might fit in or otherwise have something in common with their teammates. Levels of morality are also a point of consideration - someone selfish and survivalistic is not likely to be placed on a highly moral and self-sacrificing team. This means that if you are aspiring to app a combobreaker, be SURE to mention that in your requests!

☢ A special note for those of you wanting to app those psychopath/sociopath/otherwise completely immoral villain-types! Since these characters can be problematic in an environment where one of the main draws is team-bonding, evil dickbags will always be placed in special teams. Be aware that you may have to wait for placement even if there are slots open in non-evil-dickbag teams. Conversely, non-evil-dickbag characters will NOT be placed on the evil teams. The idea here is to have villains that can effectively be VILLAINS without having to worry about ruining team dynamics. (Of course, it doesn't hurt to note that a character belongs on Alpha when filling out the app)!

☢ Only GLaDOS and Cave are authorized to post mingles. Anyone may make a post with a specific location and hook, however!

☢ Time passage is not strict, but check the dates of recent posts before posting, and make sure to have at least three posts per IC day (morning/afternoon/evening), if not more.
