GLaDOS

GLaDOS (shockingly_nice) is the murderous, passive-aggressive computer who runs the facility. She watches subjects with cameras placed in most rooms. She is not seen by characters in the RP (at least not in person; sometimes she'll show herself on monitors), though her voice can be heard everywhere in the facility.

Cave Johnson

Cave Johnson (get_mad) is the founder of Aperture Science. Believed to be dead, he was instead downloaded into an old computer they had lying around and, rather than being interfaced with the mainframe like he wanted, left to rot. GLaDOS has transferred him into a modified (and downsized) Animal King turret.

Personality Cores

Aperture Science Personality Constructs, also known as Personality cores, administer the majority of the tests in the facility. Every player can play a core, even if they don't intend on running a lot or even ANY events.

Cores look like that cheerful fellow over on the right here: basically, balls with handles. They cannot move on their own unless attached to a guard rail, and when not plugged into the system they are completely useless. Generally, cores won't need to come into direct contact with subjects.

☢ What kind of cores are you looking for?
When you're designing a core, try and find a theme or something for the core to fixate on and then model the core's personality around it. Cores have differing levels of personality, ranging from spouting random facts and questions to being full-on characters. This is easier to show by example, so:

A core can fall anywhere in that range of personality. Low-functioning cores are encouraged! If it can't convey instructions for its tests, they can always appear on the monitors while it jibbers on uselessly.

☢ Which canon cores are appable?

- The morality, logic, and anger cores are NOT appable
- The Fact Core, Space Core, Rick, and Wheatley ARE appable

☢ Can cores betray GLaDOS/side with the subjects if it's IC?
They sure can! But GLaDOS can also permanently destroy them (and may well have to if they're actually starting to succeed). So, ah, keep that in mind!

☢ Do cores share a journal?
They most certainly do not! Every core will have its own journal that you can fill with as many icons as you please!

☢ Can I use gijinka icons for my core?
